2017 Three-Day Getaway in Hudson Valley

This summer feels like it flew by. Between doing a bit of fishing, driving the kids to outdoor track and field, volunteering at community events, going camping and of course, working, this summer was here and gone before we knew it! But a few weeks before summer escaped us we managed to take a two-some three-day getaway to one of our favorite areas, Hudson Valley, New York.

On the first day we stopped by one of our favorite delis (www.FrancosDeliandPizza.com) in Danbury Connecticut, and on the way to New York we checked out some trains at the Danbury Railway Museum.
After that, we drove straight to Upstate NY and visited our old neighborhood.
That same night we went out and enjoyed some time at the local Overlook Drive-in Theater.
Th next day we got up bright and late… and visited a local brewery, Angry Orchard, in WoodyThings Angry Orchard Featured ImageWalden, New York. After that we chilled at listened to some music, talked and enjoyed some quality time with no stress. =) We may or may not have been indulging in some wine and cider.

The last day was a fun day. Drove back to Connecticut, stopped by the Jones Winery in Shelton, Connecticut, and enjoyed a quick wine tasting. Afterwards we hung out and enjoyed a glass of our favorite wines from the selections we had that day. We paired it with some local goat cheese and crackers, before picking up a bottle of wine, cheese and a fun drive home.
